SULPHUR POINT

A beautiful trail that winds between geothermal wonders before opening up to reveal magnificent views over Lake Rotorua and the township. Right on our doorstep, it’s just a five-minute ride from our shop. Sulphur Point lives up to its name, with striking examples of steaming vents and boiling mud pools right on the shores of Lake Rotorua.

KUIRAU PARK

A great extension to riding around Government Gardens and past the lakefront, Kuirau Park features hot springs, geothermal foot baths, picnic tables, and a playground. Treat yourself to a few home-baked treats on Saturday morning by visiting the pop-up market. It’s perfect for families and a great way to get up close to the natural geothermal wonders that Rotorua is so well known for.

GOVERNMENT GARDENS AND THE LAKEFRONT

See some of Rotorua's most iconic landmarks by bike. Explore Rotorua’s historic museum, the Blue Bath House, Prince's Arch Gateway, and the Arawa War Memorial. Then meander along the geothermal-lined shoreline, discovering a carved woodenwaka(canoe), the Lakeland Queen paddleboat, seaplanes, andHehu Karaiti— a stained-glass window depicting Jesus Christ of the Māori walking on Lake Rotorua, inside the Anglican Church.

MOKOPUNA TRAIL

This smooth trail boasts hard-packed gravel and passes through beautiful mature Douglas fir, larch, and redwood forest, combined with an understory of magnificent ponga tree ferns.

This 3.6-kilometre track is perfect for the whole family and is a great way to extend your ride from Sulphur Point into the foothills of the Whakarewarewa Forest.
